First edition of the eLITHE newsletter

Discover the technologies and innovations that are shaping the future of the ceramics industry in our eLITHE project newsletter!

The eLITHE project, funded by the European Union, aims to revolutionise high-temperature industrial processes through electrification, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and significantly contributing to decarbonisation goals. In sectors such as ceramics and other energy-intensive industries, the adoption of these technologies marks a crucial step towards more sustainable, efficient, and competitive production.

Innovation and sustainability at the core of the project

eLITHE’s primary goal is to develop and implement advanced technologies for electrifying high-temperature heating processes. These technologies, including microwave-assisted heating and hybrid hydrogen burners, are designed to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency. This results not only in a lower environmental footprint but also in operational cost savings for companies, particularly in industries like ceramics.

Addressing the energy challenges of the future

In the context of increasing energy market instability, electrifying industrial processes is a key solution for improving energy security. The technologies developed under eLITHE, in addition to promoting the use of renewable energy, offer greater stability and independence from fossil fuels. This presents an opportunity for energy providers and grid operators to better integrate renewable sources and foster innovation in energy infrastructures.

Collaboration between industry and research to innovate

Innovation goes beyond just technology. eLITHE promotes the development of advanced digital monitoring and control solutions. This integrated approach allows companies to enhance the efficiency and safety of processes while addressing the growing market demands for digitalisation and sustainability.
