eLITHE defines the blueprint for its energy management

The eLITHE project has successfully completed the preparatory phase for the development of its energy management system, setting the foundation for the digitalisation, control, and flexibility of electrified industrial processes. This initial work focused on identifying the key IT requirements, control features, system functionalities, data models, and monitoring parameters that will shape the platform.

At the core of this effort is the eLITHE platform, a modular digital solution designed to support the management of industrial electrification. Project partner ETRA led the definition of technical requirements, adopting a modular approach to ensure flexibility and scalability in the platform’s IT architecture.

The energy management platform will feature a Decision Support System, Digital Twin modules, a Local Flexibility Markets participation module, and a computer vision tool for furnace monitoring, among other components. The co-defined requirements and modular architecture will ensure that the platform offers state-of-the-art services with a user-centric approach, adapting to the configuration and needs of each pilot site and their existing systems. These elements aim to enhance the operational efficiency of industrial sites while minimising energy consumption and costs.

“This report is key to understanding what the eLITHE platform offers to operators of electrified industrial processes—how the services interconnect and what specific needs they address,” explained Esteban Pastor Calatayud from ETRA, the institution leading this part of the project. “The platform brings together a set of state-of-the-art technologies in a holistic manner to monitor and control electrified assets optimally.”

This foundational work serves as the blueprint for the full development of the eLITHE platform, providing a comprehensive vision of how the various modules and engines will integrate to deliver optimised results and minimise resource use.
